our mission

We currently have three ongoing special projects: The Expansion Project, The Multimedia Project, and The Gardens.

our mission
One of the early collaborations between the Museum and the American Friends involved the landscaping of the museum grounds.

The arboretum and gardens with American plants illustrate yet another page of French-American history, that of horticultural exchanges which enhance every Museum visit. The garden projects have been under the direction and design of Mark Rudkin, Michel Boulcourt and Madison Cox.

The newest wildflower Memorial Garden has been an enormous success with its fields of red, white and blue (poppies, cosmos and cornflowers). Plans for more planting – flowering cherry trees in the Memorial Garden and evergreen tress in the park – are going forward.

our mission

Dr. Alan Govenar and Documentary Arts have been working closelywith museum curator Ann Dopffer to design and create multimedia for the upcoming renovation of the museum.

The multimedia includes interactive videos, photographs, video projections, and sound installations. Currently, more 30 videos are in production, focusing on the different thematic areas planned for the museum.

our mission

The construction work for the expansion of the museum has been halted due to the discovery of the archeological vestiges found. However, the architects will soon present a new design for a building which will enable us to display centuries of Franco-American history and art.
